People's Deputy Oleh Barna from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc has begun collecting signatures from his colleagues for the resignation of the Arseniy Yatsenyuk government.
As of the morning of December 9, 32 signatures had been collected, or one-fifth of the required number. A minimum of 150 signatures from members of parliament are required to initiate consideration of the issue at the Verkhovna Rada level. Barna expressed confidence that the required number would be collected by Friday.
He also announced that negotiations are ongoing with factions that are ready to sign up to this initiative.
By lunchtime, according to Yulia Tymoshenko, approximately 70 signatures had already been collected in support of the resignation of the Yatsenyuk government—half of the required number to register the resolution. Tymoshenko's entire Batkivshchyna faction signed on.
