The National Aviation University (NAU) is being seized by raiders, who are strongly supported by the Minister of Education, Serhiy Kvit. This was announced by former NAU Rector Mykola Kulik at a press conference.
Kulik expressed this thought in connection with the events we wrote about earlier: Acting Rector of NAU Khrashchevsky is not allowed to enter his workplace.
The former rector noted that he completely fails to understand how a person from the Maidan "can sanction a hostile takeover of a university by businessmen."
According to Kulik, Khrashchevsky's appointment as head of NAU is a direct play to business interests. The current head of NAU is a businessman whose interests are entirely aligned with the university's focus. Khrashchevsky is a co-owner of a pilot school. However, since his private school does not have an aircraft registry, his current position allows him to freely use aircraft from the Kremenchuk Helicopter College or the Kirovohrad Flight Academy.
Kulik also expressed bewilderment at the appointment of Alexander Bakhrutdinov and Andrey Maister as advisers to Sergei Kvit. According to the former rector, these individuals are closely connected to business and work at the ministry in a manner completely unrelated to research.
Andriy Maister is known for running for the Verkhovna Rada in the Borodyanka district of Kyiv Oblast and failing to secure even 1% of the vote. His second advisor, Oleksandr Bakhrutdinov, owns the Borodyanka Airport and hundreds of hectares of land in the Borodyanka district.
"So it turns out that a group of businessmen is emerging who are colluding to carry out actions necessary for their business interests," Nikolai Kulik concluded.
