Despite being under new management, Ukrnafta continues to pursue legal action against Naftogaz of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers on behalf of Ihor Kolomoisky. This information was shared on his Facebook page by MP Serhiy Leshchenko.
Leshchenko published photocopies of documents showing Ukrnafta, through a second-instance court, challenging the Kyiv District Court's decision to overturn the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution on the new procedure for selling petroleum products at auctions. Leshchenko noted that under the new procedure, oil is sold at a 15% higher price than under Kolomoisky's puppet, Peter Vanhecke. The MP stated that Ukrnafta is continuing the legal battle because its oil is purchased by Kolomoisky's companies, which are unwilling to pay higher prices for hydrocarbons.
As a reminder, Mark Rollins was appointed the new head of Ukrnafta on July 22, 2015. Ukrnafta filed its lawsuit against the Cabinet of Ministers and Naftogaz of Ukraine on July 24, 2015, two days after his appointment.
The state owns 50%+1 share of Ukrnafta. Oligarch Kolomoisky's entities own 42%. However, for many years, the state-owned company was run by management loyal to Kolomoisky, who granted the oligarch numerous preferential treatment and paid no dividends to the state.
