Will Russia's Proxima buy Kolomoisky and Bogolyubov's oil and gas businesses?

ProximaProxima announces that it is considering acquiring the British oil and gas company JKX Oil&Gas plc, which owns one of Ukraine's largest oil and gas production companies. Proxima plans to approach JKX's board of directors to discuss a potential deal.

JKX's main asset in Ukraine is the Poltava Petroleum Company, which produces oil and gas at the Ignatievske, Molchanivske, Novo-Mykolaivske, Rudenkivske, Zaplavske, Yelizavetivske, Chervonoyarske, and Vostochne fields in the Poltava region. JKX's other assets are located in Bulgaria, Russia, and Hungary.

Currently, the main shareholders of JKX are the Eclairs Group, which is owned by Igor Kolomoisky and Gennady Bogolyubov (Read more about it in the article Gennady Bogolyubov: What Privat's other half is keeping quiet about?) with a share of 27,5%, and Glengary Overseas Ltd of Russian Alexander Zhukov (11,45%).

The main owner of Proxima Capital Group Inc is Russian banker Vladimir Tatarczuk.
