Masked men stole equipment from the Scorpion plant in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

Twelve heavily built men wearing masks stormed the premises of the Scorpion agricultural enterprise in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. They identified themselves as representatives of a leasing company supplying agricultural equipment. The unidentified men presented a power of attorney and seizure documents and stole a combine harvester from the premises. The incident occurred on November 2 in the Kryvyi Rih district of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

The leasing company that provided the agricultural equipment denies the forcible seizure.

According to Vladimir Kharkovsky, head of the Kryvyi Rih district police department, this agricultural equipment was confiscated without a court order, which is a violation of current legislation.

"There was a conflict between two companies that had a leasing agreement. Generally speaking, this matter should be resolved by a court, as the conflict falls under the category of business relations. Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Article 356 ("Arbitrariness") regarding the seizure of the equipment. The leasing company should have provided a court order pursuant to which the equipment should have been seized," says Kharkovsky.

Kryvyi Rih District Prosecutor Tatyana Leonova initiated a prosecutorial investigation to establish the true picture of events. According to agricultural enterprise workers, this is important because police officers failed to include information about the blocking of agricultural enterprise employees in their police reports. The reports also contain no mention of the employees being prevented from moving freely around the premises or threatened with force.
