The transformation of a new government into a hated old one always begins first of all with vile, cynical lies.
I wonder what kind of idiots and brutes the head of the SBU thought we were when he gave an interview to Ostrov, an excerpt of which I am providing below!!!
His words about Akhmetov and the lack of seriousness of the Donetsk elites vividly reminded me of Lutsenko’s briefing on April 18, 2008 in Donetsk. Then the Minister of Internal Affairs (who, while in the opposition, was the most uncompromising speaker from the podium about the "Donetsk mafia"), when asked by journalists about the involvement of current politicians in the mass murders of the 90s, "fell into a stupor" and began to explain that the mafia is a concept that has nothing to do with geography, and as proof, he began citing a list of seven Ukrainian... thieves in law. One got the impression that the Minister doesn't distinguish between the authoritarian "blatnyaks" and the fusion of criminals with the government. Today, Lutsenko even calls Rinat Leonidych a "fellow traveler of the revolution" (yeah, "bees against honey"), and NaSLIVaychenko is almost echoing him, shifting all responsibility for the massacre in Donbas onto the fugitive Yanukovych, now inaccessible to justice, and the "little green men."
Incidentally, regarding Khodakovsky, there was a report in the media that SBU Alpha Force fighters immediately attempted to free the Vostok Battalion commander, who had been captured by Ukrainian volunteers. And practically had to fight! Why such zeal and concern?
In general, judge for yourself:
"...We clearly and frankly admit that some SBU officers, including those currently part of the Vostok Battalion, who portray themselves as 'heroes,' are in fact corrupt. They spent years fleecing local residents with bribes and illegal payments, and then, when they realized the end had come for both their patrons and the corrupt government, they took up arms..."
— Are you talking about Khodakovsky now?
"Including him. The most corrupt people defected to the separatists for money. Those who betrayed their comrades. And more than once, handing over their own comrades to be tortured by Bezler and other terrorists. They must be held criminally accountable. In open court hearings. The whole world must see them and learn of their crimes."
— The terrorists themselves, in particular Ponomarev, said that Rinat Akhmetov is the patron of the Vostok Battalion and Khodakovsky.
"That's not true. He shouldn't even try to say he has patrons now; it won't help him. Criminal liability is inevitable for someone like him."
— Well, was the involvement of the local Donetsk elite in separatism and terrorism ever investigated?
"The 'local Donetsk elite' isn't a serious concept for me. I can take seriously, for example, the city of Mariupol, where the role of Ukrainian businessman Rinat Akhmetov in keeping businesses open and civil order gradually being restored is very positive. The role of Serhiy Taruta and those who, unlike the terrorists, preserve jobs in Donbas, the ability to earn a salary, and therefore, to live, feed, and educate their children, is also positive.
After all, the main problem for ordinary residents of Donbass from terrorists and Russian GRU agents is that they destroy, blow up, break everything...."
I also present to your attention a video of a roundtable discussion about the true role of the "masters of Donbas" in unleashing the bloody massacre, conducted by the author of these lines together with other journalists originally from Donbas:
