Odessa illegal transporters shot at a legal bus carrying passengers. Video

broken minibusOn the afternoon of April 27, 2016, a passenger bus traveling between Odessa and Kyiv was attacked with a non-lethal weapon. Fortunately, no passengers were injured.

According to witnesses, as the bus was departing from Odessa's Central Bus Station, unknown young men approached the driver and threatened to cause trouble if the bus continued on its route. Naturally, the driver refused these terms, and as the bus was leaving Odessa, near the Klevernyi Bridge, unknown men in two cars blocked the bus, fired a dozen shots, and drove off. As noted above, no passengers were injured, but the bus was cancelled and the bus was severely damaged.

Irina Zhikova, director of the Odessa Central Bus Station, suspects "competitors" operating illegal passenger transportation operations near the Central Bus Station are behind the incident. She says similar incidents have occurred before, with legal drivers being beaten, their tires slashed, and repeated threats.
Let us also recall that not long ago, during a public inspection of passenger transportation, a conflict arose between illegal carriers operating near the Central Bus Station and activists of the Odessa Road Control. https://odessamedia.net/news/nelegalnie-perevozchiki-ugrojayut-bezopasnosti-odessitov/.
Police have opened a criminal investigation into the unlawful actions of unknown individuals. We hope the perpetrators will be found and brought to justice soon.
