More nepotism: the daughter of the deputy head of the Prosecutor General's Office received a position

GPU

Tatiana Gornostaeva

Odezhda Region Prosecutor General Andriy Priz introduced his new deputy. This position has been filled by Tatyana Gornostaeva. Her predecessor resigned in accordance with the "Law on the Purification of Power." However, it appears the lustration here was purely formal, as Ms. Gornostaeva is the daughter of Viktor Shokin, the deputy head of the Prosecutor General's Office.

She has worked in the prosecutor's office since 2001. During this time, she was awarded the Gratitude of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, the "Gratitude for Conscientious Service in the Prosecutor's Office" badge, 3rd degree, and an honorary distinction from the High Council of Justice. She is thirty-six years old.

According to experts, this appointment will negatively impact law enforcement reform.

During her working career, she managed to work in various positions.

In 2005-2007, she was a prosecutor and senior prosecutor in the department for representing the interests of citizens and the state in the courts of the Kyiv regional prosecutor's office.

Since 2007, she headed the department for the protection of the rights and freedoms of minors of the Kyiv regional prosecutor's office.

From 2008 to 2011, she held the position of Deputy Head of the Department for the Participation of Prosecutors in Commercial Proceedings of the Department for Representation of the Interests of Citizens and the State in the Supreme Court of Ukraine and Higher Specialized Courts.

Experts believe the position is inappropriate for Gornostaeva's experience and age. Moreover, this appointment will negatively impact law enforcement reform.
