The resignation of the Kharkiv prosecutor has not been accepted.

Kharkiv Prosecutor Yevhen Popovich's resignation from the prosecutor's office has been rejected. "I did submit such a resignation, but it was not supported by the leadership of the Prosecutor General's Office. They told me, 'Go to work,' so I remain Kharkiv Prosecutor and am currently in my position," Popovich stated, according to Interfax-Ukraine.
As a reminder, the official website of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office previously published Order No. 1279k of the Prosecutor General dated September 4, dismissing Popovich from his position as Kharkiv Prosecutor. This information is currently unavailable on the website.
As SQ was told by the regional prosecutor's office, Popovich's report was sent to the Prosecutor General's Office, as required by regulations, as only the Prosecutor General can decide to dismiss a city prosecutor. As of September 11, the regional prosecutor's office does not have a signed order from the Prosecutor General regarding Popovich's dismissal. Therefore, he continues to serve as Kharkiv city prosecutor.
The appearance of information about Popovich's dismissal on the regional prosecutor's office website was due to a technical error.

SQ HelpPopovich headed the Kharkiv prosecutor's office in February 2008. His total length of service in the prosecutor's office is more than 22 years.
