Twenty-four-year-old Anton Pashinsky, son of former head of the Ukrainian Presidential Administration Serhiy Pashinsky, has been appointed head of a department at Spetstechnoexport, Forbes reports.
A source at Spetstechnoexport, speaking anonymously to Forbes, told the following:
"To his credit, the young man honestly admitted he had no understanding whatsoever of arms exports and imports. He asked to be briefed. So, we're taking our time while the SBU checks his security clearance."
Serhiy Pashinsky, head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and Defense, dismissed reports of his son's employment at Spetstechnoexport as pure fantasy. "The man who claimed to be my son provided false information. It's a shame that journalists are spreading false information—about billions of hryvnias and Ukroboronprom departments. My son doesn't work in Ukroboronprom's second department," Pashinsky said in response to journalists' questions.
However, journalists called the reception desk of Spetstechnoexport, where they were informed that Anton Sergeyevich Pashinsky was on a business trip.
It is known that Anton Pashinsky has no relevant education. Pashinsky Jr. graduated from the Hetman National University of Economics of Kyiv. Before his appointment to Spetstechnoexport, he was brand manager at Avangard, a company owned by oligarch Oleh Bakhmatyuk. Anton Pashinsky oversaw chicken egg sales. As a reminder, Spetstechnoexport is a subsidiary of the state-owned concern Ukroboronprom.
