Minister of Social Policy Pavlo Rozenko (Read more about it in the article Pavel Rozenko. The Story of the Minister of Subsidies and Pensions) fired Yuriy Kharchenko, director of the State Employment Center. Rozenko wrote this on his Facebook page. Specifically, the minister accused the official of ineffectiveness and explained that he fired Kharchenko for failing to employ displaced persons and for inefficient use of public funds.
The Minister of Social Policy also added that, out of more than a million registered displaced persons from the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, only 3,8 were employed over the course of the year.
Pavel Rozenko clarified that Yuriy Kharchenko's dismissal would be a welcome "shakeup" for all employment service employees and an incentive to improve their efficiency. The minister also announced that the State Employment Service is facing significant reforms.
In turn, former Director of the State Employment Center, Yuriy Kharchenko, in a comment to UNN, called the actions of the Ministry of Social Policy's leadership against him illegal and aimed at building a corrupt vertical power structure under the current Minister, Pavlo Rozenko. Kharchenko also claims that the repression against him began immediately after he refused to submit his resignation as Director of the State Employment Center.
