Dmitry Petrov, deputy chairman of the Podolsk District Court of Kyiv, attracted attention with his unpopular, high-profile decisions.

Dmitry Petrov
He authorized construction on the site of the demolished historic police station and next to the archaeological site at the end of last year. He also denied the prosecutor's office's request to seize the equipment and outbuildings of Iosif Nosach's estate. This was reported by "190».
An equally scandalous case involved the transfer of seized property to a military unit without even filing a lawsuit. Things became even more intriguing when it was revealed that several tons of pine nuts were involved. Sources close to law enforcement claim the nuts simply disappeared; Petrov transferred them using forged documents, and the military was unaware of the incident. The financial losses were incurred by Global Greenfood LLC. The State Bureau of Investigation is currently handling the case, and the judge himself is actively trying to "resolve the matter."
Dmitry Petrov and his decisions
Another decision that raised numerous doubts about Judge Petrov's integrity was the pretrial detention of businessman Oleksandr Khilik. The man had assaulted a cyclist after a roadside incident. The prosecutor initially insisted on pretrial detention. However, the judge placed the Mercedes driver under overnight house arrest. The suspicion that this decision was not without merit was later confirmed. After all, following the prosecutor's appeal, the appellate court replaced the house arrest with pretrial detention with bail of five million hryvnias.
The National Agency for Corruption Prevention, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, and the SAPO should have been paying close attention to Dmitry Petrov long ago. Moreover, this is not the first time questions have been raised regarding the judge's illicit enrichment. His financial disclosures have also raised many questions.
The information portal “ has already written about the new apartment in Italy”My Kyiv region»With reference to Parliament.uaThe exact date when this property came into the ownership of Petrov's wife, Inna Yakunina, could not be determined. She also did not disclose the price of the property. The source of the funds for this purchase also remains a mystery. However, it is clear that the judge's declared income is insufficient to support such agreements. The declared amount itself—just over a million hryvnias—calls into question the Petrov family's financial transparency.

The cars they drive also sparked public outrage. Specifically, they are a 2017 Smart ForTwo Electric and a 2019 Audi E-tron. And even here, Judge Petrov couldn't avoid using schematics. He uses the Audi free of charge, as he followed the standard procedure: he bought the car and registered it in his father-in-law's name so he could drive it discreetly.
Petrov himself, from the very beginning of the full-scale invasion, began regularly visiting Italy. He covers these trips with official business trips, but he pays for all the expensive trips himself. Furthermore, no evidence of any official invitations to Italy for Petrov could be found.
