According to Viktor Pinchuk's press service, businessman Viktor Pinchuk stated that Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Governor Igor Kolomoisky is blackmailing him over an upcoming trial in London.

"Since filing these lawsuits, Kolomoisky and Bogolyubov ( read more about him in the article Gennady Bogolyubov: What is Privat's other half keeping quiet about ? ) have begun threatening me with a campaign against my loved ones. Last week, the blackmail became overt. And it's absolutely clear to me that Messrs. Kolomoisky and Bogolyubov are using this method to pressure me into withdrawing the lawsuits I filed against them in London," Pinchuk stated.

Pinchuk claims that in 2011, then-President Viktor Yanukovych took similar revenge on Kuchma for refusing to disperse the Maidan in 2004.

"Today, Kolomoisky is using the same 'tools' of Yanukovych, using Kuzmin ( read more about him in the article "Renat Kuzmin: The Family Business of Outlaw Prosecutors ") and Melnichenko," Pinchuk said. "But blackmail didn't work in 2011, and it won't work today. The lawsuits won't be withdrawn."

According to Pinchuk, Igor Kolomoisky, who has concentrated both power levers and powerful administrative resources in his hands, is putting pressure on him.

"I specifically respond to the accusation of bribery made by Kuzmin, a professional political falsifier. This is an absolute lie. We paid nothing to close the case against L.D. Kuchma," Pinchuk states.

"The case was closed because the accusations were baseless and unsubstantiated. And pressuring me and Leonid Danilovich was counterproductive," he adds.

He also recalls that he is Kuchma’s son-in-law and has a business conflict and legal proceedings “with individual shareholders of the 1+1 TV channel.”

Pinchuk also points out that he and his family are interested in a fair and objective investigation into the tragedy of Georgiy Gongadze, and also support an open trial of Pukach.

As a reminder, last Wednesday, the 1+1 television channel aired the program "Right to Power," in which former Deputy Prosecutor General Renat Kuzmin openly announced that, in order to "hush up" the murder of journalist Georgiy Gongadze, Kuchma and his family paid former President Yanukovych a record bribe of $1 billion.
