Stefan Hofsaes, a German rail development expert, has been appointed advisor to Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Andriy Pyvovarsky. Pyvovarsky himself wrote about this on Facebook.
According to the minister, Hofsaes has worked on rail and metro development projects in the Netherlands, Beijing, Puerto Rico, and other countries. He also noted that he has 25 years of experience in rail transport, 15 of which were in senior positions.
Pivovarsky noted that one of Hofsaes's tasks will be to create a freight company within PJSC Ukrainian Railways. He also stated that there is no need to "reinvent the wheel," but rather to leverage international experience in this and other areas.
