The nephew of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko is seeking to head the State Fiscal Service. This was reported on the Ministry of Finance's website.

It has been reported that 67 people have submitted applications to the Ministry of Finance to head the State Fiscal Service. Four current MPs are also seeking the high post: Nina Yuzhanina, Roman Nasirov, Valeriy Patskan, and Oksana Prodan. Former MP Mykola Katerynchuk and a former deputy finance minister have also applied. It was previously reported that candidates for the post of head of the State Fiscal Service had to submit the relevant list of documents by April 17.

As a reminder, Yaroslav Yushchenko, the third president's nephew, was born on December 23, 1980, in Kharkiv. He graduated from Karazin Kharkiv National University in 2002, majoring in Finance and Credit. From 2001 to 2005, he worked as chief economist at Firma Sulla LLC. From March 2005 to April 2010, he served as deputy chairman of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration. During this time, he was also a member of the Kharkiv Regional Council. Yaroslav Yushchenko is known for his friendship with Kharkiv Mayor Gennady Kernes. They have been seen together on numerous occasions.
