Following a lawsuit filed by the State Emergency Service, a decision was made to close the Kyiv History Museum.

Kyiv History MuseumThe courts of first and second instance upheld the claim of the State Emergency Service and ordered the suspension of operations at the Kyiv History Museum, located at 7 Khmelnytsky Street in the center of the capital.

It is known that the State Emergency Service found a number of violations at the museum. However, Kyiv City State Administration officials noted that the violations that prompted the decision to close the museum were completely insignificant. Specifically, the State Emergency Service discovered that the building's door height was 2 centimeters off from the design specifications and that not all steps were the same size.

In turn, the courts of two instances ordered that the museum's electricity be disconnected and its doors sealed until the violations were fully rectified.
