Today, February 26, approximately 1500 Kyiv residents gathered outside the Kyiv City Hall building. The protesters demanded that Vitali Klitschko and the city's leadership provide free healthcare, education, and transportation within Kyiv. Activists arrived outside the Kyiv City State Administration building carrying Ukrainian and Kyiv flags. They later blocked part of Khreshchatyk Street with cars.
Protesters were seen holding signs with slogans in three languages (Ukrainian, Russian, and German): "Vitalia, come on, goodbye!" "Klitschko!! Your deputy is a raider of Kyiv's education and sports!" "Shame on Starostenko!" "Mayor, protect our children from your 'reformers.'"
As a reminder, Anna Starostenko is a longtime ally of Vitali Klitschko. She currently serves as Klitschko's deputy for humanitarian affairs. Following her appointment as deputy mayor, reports suggested that Starostenko was preparing a revolution of sorts in the capital's education system. Starostenko proposed creating conditions for the opening of private educational institutions, though she clarified that their operation must be beneficial to Kyiv. Innovations in education, funding for kindergartens and schools, and the quality of food and education in them are all within Starostenko's purview.
While running for parliament in 2012, Starostenko disclosed her income: in 2011, she earned 38 hryvnias per year. All of the declared income was salary. Starostenko owns one 58-square-meter apartment and a Ford Kuga Trend.
Vitali Klitschko has not yet come out to the protesters.

Anna Starostenko, born May 13, 1978 in Varva, Chernihiv Oblast.
In 1995, she graduated from the Ukrainian Humanitarian Lyceum of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
From 1995 to 2000, she studied at the Institute of International Relations of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, where she received a Master's degree in International Relations and a German translator.
From 2000 to 2004, she was a postgraduate student at the Institute of International Relations of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Department of International Relations and Foreign Policy.
In 2004, she defended her dissertation and received a PhD in political science, specializing in “Political Problems of International Systems and Global Development.”
In 2001–2004, she completed a postgraduate education at the European University Viadrina (Frankfurt an der Oder, Germany) in European Politics, and completed an internship at the Embassy of Ukraine in the Federal Republic of Germany (2002) and in the Bundestag (2003–2004).
Since 2005, he has been working in Vitali Klitschko’s team as an assistant-consultant on political and social issues, and since September 2005, he has been the President of the Klitschko Brothers Foundation Charitable Organization.
