President Petro Poroshenko promised to soon release news regarding his business.
According to him, it's very difficult to sell anything in a country at war. Poroshenko's Russian assets, he added, have been frozen. However, the president stated that he still plans to sell Roshen.
It is curious that at the same time Poroshenko plans to build a new Roshen plant in Boryspil. not far from Kyiv. His other businesses also operate – 13th Seafood Plant in Sevastopol, the International Investment Bank, and others. Not a word has been said about them yet.
Let's remember that the promise to sell Roshen was made before Poroshenko took office, but it hasn't been fulfilled to date. In turn, the head of the Presidential Administration Dmitry Shimkiv Poroshenko compared himself to Bill Gates, saying, "It's like asking Bill Gates to sell Microsoft. Find someone who will buy this company outright. Roshen is one of the largest FMCG companies in Ukraine. Who can come up and pay its price right away?"
Overall, the situation with Roshen remains unclear, and what adds a particular piquancy is the fact that Poroshenko plans to sue the Russian company over the "Vanilla Sky" trademark, which it does not use but continues to own the rights to.
