Recently, it was reported that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched an investigation into the activities of VS Energy, a major electric power group owned by Russians Evgeny Giner, Mikhail Voevodin, and Alexander Babakov. Following the announcement of criminal proceedings against VS Energy, the company's leadership has been changed. Nikolai Lavrenko has been appointed the company's new head, replacing Mikhail Spektor as president of VS Energy Ukraine LLC. This was reported by Interfax, citing the Unified State Register of Legal Entities.
It is known that the top management rotation took place in early September of this year. Investigative actions are currently underway against one of Ukraine's largest energy groups.
Since late 2005, Mikhail Spector managed Russian MP Alexander Babakov's energy assets in Ukraine. During the 2004 presidential elections, he served as Viktor Yushchenko's special representative in the Russian Federation.
