Despite loud statements from law enforcement agencies about investigating the illegal business activities of representatives of the previous government, their businesses continue to generate profits, and members of parliament remain the founders of their companies.
It has emerged that Yuriy Ivanyushchenko, a confidant of the fugitive president, shares a business with former Minister of Agrarian Policy Mykola Prysyazhnyuk and MPs Volodymyr Pekhov and Valeriy Omelchenko, former members of the Party of Regions faction. Their business empire comprises over 100 firms and companies involved in construction, transportation, mining, financial services, agribusiness, and much more. Moreover, Valeriy Omelchenko, a member of parliament prohibited by the Constitution of Ukraine from engaging in entrepreneurial activity, is the founder of BK Grand-Etalon LLC (engaged in construction) and Tantal Company LLC (sand and gravel mining). The diagram also clearly shows that Yuriy Ivanyushchenko and Mykola Prysyazhnyuk were co-founders of Tseradon LLC, which is in turn confirmed by data from the state register of enterprises and organizations. Ukrainian MP Volodymyr Pekhov, dubbed by the media as Ukraine's foremost corporate raider, participated in Ivanyushchenko and Prysyazhnyuk's businesses through his first wife, Tatyana Vasilyevna Klymenko. She is the co-founder of Budtransport LLC, which included individuals and companies that were also co-founders and directors of Ivanyushchenko and Prysyazhnyuk's firms. As has been repeatedly stated, the activities of these individuals have caused multi-million dollar damage to the state. Currently, Volodymyr Pekhov is running again for the Verkhovna Rada from the 64th district in the Zhytomyr region, and lists Prosecutor General of Ukraine Vitaliy Yarema as one of his closest allies.
