Kolomoisky's PrivatBank could lose 10% of the plastic card market.

privateIhor Kolomoisky's PrivatBank could lose 10% of the plastic card market. This prediction was made by Dilyara Mustafayeva, Head of the Banking Market Analysis Department at the Financial Pulse Center for Economic Research and Forecasting, at a roundtable discussion on "The State of the Banking Business in Ukraine: The Card Business."

The expert stated that PrivatBank could lose its clients, primarily if new requirements for Ukrainian financial institutions serving public sector employees come into effect. In addition to PrivatBank, Raiffeisen Bank Aval could also lose approximately 2% of its card accounts. State-owned financial institutions such as Oschadbank, Ukreximbank, and Ukrgasbank, on the other hand, will increase their share of the plastic card market.

As Mustafayeva stated, clients, primarily public sector employees, may initially experience some difficulties when switching to state-owned banks, as these financial institutions will urgently need to expand their ATM network. Experts estimate that the ATM network needs to be expanded by 6,5 devices.

As a reminder, the government plans to introduce new regulations for financial institutions that serve public sector employees and pensioners. This initiative by the Ukrainian Kolomoisky plans to challenge PrivatBank's management in court.
