As part of a criminal investigation, the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office seized and transferred to ARMA 645 railcars belonging to the family of former Ukrainian Defense Minister Pavlo Lebedev, who is wanted for treason, reports Interfax.
"Under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, 645 railway cars worth approximately UAH 650 million, belonging to the family of former official Pavlo Lebedev, who is wanted for treason, have been seized during a criminal investigation," the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office reported on its Telegram channel on Monday.
Currently, as noted by the prosecutor's office, the seized property has been transferred to the management of ARMA.
The report emphasizes that, according to the investigation, a number of enterprises operate in Ukraine, the ultimate beneficial owner of which is the family of the former Minister of Defense of Ukraine (2012-2014).
"These enterprises are engaged in the supply and sale of goods in Russia, and also produce equipment for the military-industrial complex of the aggressor state," the statement reads.
According to the prosecutor's office, other assets of this financial-industrial group of companies and their owners have also been seized. Specifically, 30 land plots, 30 real estate properties, including six entire property complexes, and the corporate rights of 22 business entities have been seized.
Pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings on the facts of financing actions committed with the aim of violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order or seizure of state power, changing the borders of the territory or state border of Ukraine and appropriation of property (Part 3 of Article 110-2 and Part 3 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) is carried out by investigators of the Investigative Directorate of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv, with the operational support of the Department for the Protection of National Statehood of the Security Service of Ukraine.
