Baby food in Odessa has reached its "anti-record" in terms of quality.
Thus, over the past few months, cases of child poisoning in children's educational institutions in our city have become increasingly common.
The current approach to monitoring their children's nutrition is not always to the liking of parents, and, consequently, increasingly draws attention to the "coordinated" work of city authorities and nutrition organizations.
Previously, various media sources have repeatedly published evidence of the "misdeeds" of food service organizations, but the issue of the legality and transparency of financial relationships in the food service sector has not previously been raised.
The prosecutor's office of the Malinovsky district of Odessa took on the task of finding and breaking up this shadowy collaboration.
Thus, a pre-trial investigation has been launched against officials of the Malinovsky District Administration's education department for alleged embezzlement of budget funds and falsification of accounting records. According to the prosecutor's office press service, the district administration officials are suspected of colluding with the management of organizations that supplied food products to educational institutions in the Malinovsky District in 2013-2014. This collusion resulted in improper gain for both parties through document forgery or artificially inflated prices.
Based on the above actions, criminal proceedings have been initiated under Part 2 of Article 366 (forgery by an official) and Part 5 of Article 191 (embezzlement, misappropriation of property or taking possession of it by abuse of official position, committed by a group of persons on an especially large scale) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The case involves several companies that provide hot meals to schools and kindergartens in Odessa.
Let us recall that the largest share of the baby food market in the city was occupied by the structures of the People's Deputy of Ukraine Alexandra Presman and the owner of the GERTS group, Konstantin Tkach.
We hope that this time, the lobbying of such high-ranking officials will not allow legitimate legal liability to be evaded for the poor quality of food provided to children in Odessa's educational institutions.
