During his five months as Lviv Oblast Prosecutor, Volodymyr Gural distributed 27 free apartments to his subordinates, according to Zakhid.net.
It is known that 15 one-room, 6 two-room, and 6 three-room apartments were allocated. Thus, in the summer of 2014, prosecutors received 27 apartments in two new buildings on Chervona Kalyny Avenue in Lviv, worth a total of over 21 million hryvnias.
It is also reported that between 2011 and 2014, employees of the Lviv Oblast prosecutor's office received 71 apartments in Lviv, including not only prosecutors, but also technical workers.
Volodymyr Gural was appointed Lviv Oblast Prosecutor in March last year by Acting Prosecutor General Makhnitsky. In July, he was transferred to the position of Deputy Prosecutor, and in October, he was dismissed from his position in accordance with the "Law on the Purification of Power."
Zakhid.net also clarifies that high-ranking officials in law enforcement agencies, upon receiving a new official apartment, immediately deregister it from official status for free, then privatize and sell the apartment, as they already have housing. The Lviv City Council Executive Committee assists in deregistering apartments from official status.
It was previously reported that the head of the Lviv regional internal security department, Lyubomyr Rodynyuk, received two government-issued apartments during his career in the tax service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which he subsequently appropriated for himself.
