Former Ukrtransnafta director Oleksandr Lazorko has applied for permission to participate in the competition for the position of general director of PJSC Ukrtransnafta.
He submitted the document on September 11, and also provided a letter of recommendation signed by Bohdan Baradny, head of the Galichina oil refinery complex, in which the latter writes that it was Lazorko who made Ukrtransnafta profitable.
The letter also notes that journalists and pro-Russian political groups are trying to frame Lazorko, and proposes giving him a state award.
It's worth noting that Lazorko is wanted by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) for embezzlement and misappropriation of company property. The letter doesn't explain how this fits with effective management and governance.
