Relatives of former Party of Regions MP Oleksiy Zhuravko are carrying out construction on the banks of the Konka River in the town of Tsyurupinsk in the Kherson region. This was reported by social activist Dmytro Chursin for the publication "Oleshe Online."
The activist cites the results of an inspection by the State Environmental Inspectorate. The inspection revealed that Alexey Zhuravko's wife, Angela, and his father-in-law, Yuriy Sokol, leased several plots of land from the chairman of the Tsyurupinsky District State Administration. This land was allocated for the construction of a dacha and a "temporary structure." The Zhuravko family was never granted permission to carry out any major construction.
However, in August of this year, the State Environmental Inspectorate conducted an inspection of Zhuravko's relatives' compliance with land lease regulations after receiving a complaint regarding illegal construction. It was discovered that two plots of land leased to Zhuravko's wife and father-in-law were enclosed by a high concrete fence, which also encroached on a portion of the river's coastal protection zone.
It was discovered that the Kherson Regional State Administration's Department of Ecology and the Kherson Water Resources Department refused to review and approve detailed plans for the aforementioned territories. Thus, it became known that Zhuravko's relatives were using this land illegally.
Based on the results of the State Environmental Inspectorate's inspection, Anzhela Zhuravko and citizen Sokol are expected to be held administratively liable.
As a reminder, Oleksiy Zhuravko served as a People's Deputy from the Party of Regions from 2006 to 2012. Media reports and photos indicate that Mr. Zhuravko actively participated in the Anti-Maidan rally in Moscow and thanked the Russian Federation for the annexation of Crimea.
