Last year, a third of the judges of Kyiv's Pechersky District Court received financial assistance from the state, including five judges who were "millionaires."
The aid amounted to 12 hryvnias. Those "in need" included those who owned several houses and apartments, and not the cheapest ones. One such judge is Elena Isaevska, who owns two plots of land, two apartments, and two houses, as well as 7,5 million hryvnias in her family bank accounts. Another "in need" was the head of the court, Oleh Belotserkovets, who owned 1,7 million hryvnias and two cars.
Among the others, Kristina Tarasyuk, Andriy Melnyk, and Irina Litvinova deserve special mention. These are the "millionaires" cohort. Other judges, while not boasting multimillion-dollar accounts, still earn salaries well above the national average.
It's important to note that such assistance is only available to civil servants in the event of a surplus in their payroll. These surpluses are intended for health improvement or social and living needs.
