The court ordered the Klyuev brothers' Ukrpodshipnik JSC to pay the state-owned Ukreximbank over €41 million in unpaid loan debt, according to Nashi Groshi, citing a ruling by the Donetsk Regional Commercial Court.
It is reported that on November 22, 2006, the Klyuev family's company borrowed €38 million from Ukreximbank at 5,4% per annum. JSC Ukrpodshipnik pledged to repay the loan by February 5, 2016. In August 2015, Ukreximbank demanded that the Klyuev-controlled company repay the loan early. However, JSC Ukrpodshipnik failed to repay the financial institution, leading Ukreximbank to file a lawsuit against the Klyuev family's company.
The court ordered JSC Ukrpodshipnik to pay the bank 38 million euros in debt, as well as 3,2 million euros in interest and 626 thousand UAH in penalties.
It is known that, in addition to this company, the Klyuev brothers' structures owe state-owned banks several hundred million hryvnias.
