On November 30, 2015, the Kyiv Commercial Court lifted the seizure of funds and property belonging to VETEK (Eastern European Fuel and Energy Company), owned by oligarch Sergei Kurchenko. This was reported by UN, which has a copy of the court ruling.
Furthermore, the court lifted the freeze on the funds and property of Ankora-Torg, Mui Ne, Alkonost, Ainam, Amadina, Amin, and Higa, as well as the Metalist football club. It was the football club that filed a lawsuit requesting the lifting of the freeze on its accounts and the oligarch's company.
It was previously reported that in February 2014, the top management of the VETEK corporation left Ukrayina.
Last March, the Ministry of Internal Affairs launched an investigation into the case of VETEK, which caused UAH 1,6 billion in losses to the state-owned Naftogaz of Ukraine. On March 20, 2014, the Prosecutor General's Office placed Serhiy Kurchenko on the wanted list.
As a reminder, VETEK specializes in the trade of petroleum products, as well as liquefied and natural gas.
