Is Saakashvili "covering up" the Odessa firm Vernon from the financial police?

Odessa Governor Mikheil Saakashvili on his page in Facebook He complained about the actions of the Kyiv financial police. Saakashvili noted that law enforcement officers conducted an illegal 30-hour inspection of Vernon's cargo at the Odessa customs office.

Nameless

The governor reported that the head of the Vernon company had approached him and asked him to intervene in the situation, as the Odesa customs office was experiencing complete arbitrariness. The importer was forced to pay three times for unloading and for the vehicle's demurrage at the customs terminal. A financial police investigator from Kyiv inspected the cargo for 30 hours and refused to release it. Following the company's head's complaint to the Odesa Regional State Administration, Saakashvili's deputy, Yulia Marushevska, arrived on the scene. Only then was the cargo released.

The State Fiscal Service, for its part, explains the actions of the financial police by saying they received a written complaint from an employee of the State Fiscal Service's Kyiv headquarters regarding the company "Vernon." In his complaint, the employee stated that the company had been violating customs laws for four months.

Vernon noted that their company had only been in business for 10 days and had not yet "been able to adapt to the rules imposed by corrupt saboteurs."
