Samopomich party leader and Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi intends to testify to the Prosecutor General's Office on August 31, 2015, and speak about pressure on Samopomich faction members of parliament in the Verkhovna Rada. The Lviv mayor wrote this on his Facebook page.
Sadovy noted that he intends to provide information to the Prosecutor General's Office regarding attempts to bribe and pressure members of parliament from his party that took place on the eve of the vote on amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine.
The mayor of Lviv noted that pressure exerted on members of parliament from the Samopomich faction resulted in the fact that, apart from Anna Hopko, not a single member of the faction supported the decision to amend certain articles of the Constitution of Ukraine on July 16, 2015.
Leader Sadovy also expressed the opinion that his faction should act "in accordance with morality. I still believe such a thing is possible in politics," he concluded.
It was previously reported that investigators summoned Sadovyi for questioning by the Prosecutor General's Office in connection with information that emerged regarding bribery and pressure on members of the Samopomich faction to support the Verkhovna Rada's vote on amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine.
