Citing a press release from Mriya's creditors, the Apostrophe publication reports that Simon Chernyavsky has been appointed CEO of the Mriya agricultural holding. Prior to this appointment, Chernyavsky headed the HarvEast holding, which is under the control of SCM and Smart Holding.
The creditors appointed Viktor Kukharchuk, who had spent the last five years as production director at the Danish company Trigon Agri, to the position of chief operating officer.
Ton Khulsa, who previously held a similar position at Allseeds and Grain Company, has assumed the position of CFO. Khulsa previously headed the corporate banking department at ING Bank in Ukraine.
Chernyavsky promised creditors to focus their efforts on restoring the agricultural holding's stable operations and ensuring the company's future growth.
As a reminder, the Mriya agricultural holding is one of the largest agricultural companies in Ukraine, with 300,000 hectares of land under management. The holding has been going through its worst times over the past six months. It has received approximately 200 lawsuits seeking debt collection and restructuring. These lawsuits total approximately $1,3 billion. Until August 2014, Mykola Guta was the general director of the agricultural holding and the owner of 80% of the company's shares. He is currently wanted by Interpol for fraud.
