On March 24, People's Deputy and Deputy Commander of the Donbass Battalion Pavlo Kishkar, speaking to journalists in Mykolaiv, announced that the Samopomich party is proposing the liquidation of the state-owned Ukroboronprom concern, as it is failing to fulfill its mandated functions.
According to the parliamentarian, the Uroboronprom concern does not manufacture anything; it is a purely commercial add-on that currently adds 18% to the cost of the final product.
Kishkar noted that Ukrainian armored personnel carriers are often inferior to similar products on the global market due to their high price. According to the MP, the liquidation of Ukroboronprom would result in savings of over 1 billion hryvnias.
As a reminder, the Ukroboronprom concern includes the following enterprises in Mykolaiv: the State Enterprise "Research and Design Center for Shipbuilding," the State Enterprise "Zorya-Mashproekt" Scientific and Production Complex, the State Enterprise "Mykolaiv Armored Plant," the State Enterprise "Shipbuilding Plant named after 61 Communards," the State Enterprise "Mykolaiv Aircraft Repair Plant "NARP," the Ukrainian Radiotechnical Institute, and the Southern Production and Technical Enterprise. Most of these enterprises are unprofitable.
As a reminder, in an open letter, former employees of the Ukrinmash company (one of Ukroboronprom's enterprises) stated that corruption is thriving at Ukroboronprom's enterprises, old criminal schemes have been preserved, and conditions are being created for new deals to embezzle public funds on an especially large scale.
