The SBU has exposed corruption among the leadership of the Kyiv Region Council of Private Enforcement Officers.

Security Service of Ukraine officers have documented a corruption scheme organized by one of the leaders of the Council of Private Enforcement Officers of the Kyiv Region, reports press office power department.

The official, in particular, demanded money for “resolving the issue” of a $40,000 debt.

"...the head of the Council systematically demanded a 'reward' for 'unblocking' property seized due to debt obligations. For resolving the problem, he received an average of 5% of the value of the seized property. It is documented that the perpetrator demanded money from citizens who had already paid their debts but had not been officially removed from the Unified Register of Debtors," the report states.

Law enforcement officers have detained the accomplices. Investigations are ongoing.
