A special unit of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) called Alpha, consisting of approximately 20 people, raided the Adamant internet company, whose office is located at 51a Kharkivske Shosse. This was reported by Ivan Petukhov, President of the Adamant Group of Companies.
Mr. Petukhov noted that on January 19, at approximately 11 a.m., Adamant's commercial director informed him that a car had blocked the entrance to the office and that individuals in special uniforms with the SBU logo were planning to storm it.
A CCTV camera recorded all the actions of the SBU officers. As Petukhov noted, the Alfa officers first "showed up" at the Adamant Telecom customer service department. There, the special forces officers stated that they were looking specifically for Adamant Telecom President Petukhov.
After Petukhov arrived at the office, accompanied by a video camera operator, SBU officers showed their identification and entered the office. It was later revealed that the SBU officers were looking not for Petukhov, but for an unknown client. As the president of Adamant noted, the special forces officers did not present any document authorizing the search of Adamant's office, citing confidentiality.
Petukhov later learned that SBU officers were planning to seize equipment belonging to one of Adamant's clients, who had leased space in the IT company's server rack. Adamant's president and owner stated that members of the SBU's Alpha special forces unit had been in the company's office since January 19. However, what exactly they were searching for remains unknown.
