According to Kyiv's Pechersky District Court, SBU officers kept suspects in the 2014 Euromaidan dispersal informed about the progress of the pre-trial investigation. For this, they received between 6 and 12 hryvnias per month, according to Nashi Groshi.
As it turned out, Security Service officers acted with the support of several officials from the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kyiv, as well as from the Prosecutor General's Office. In addition to informing, they also warned those who had left Ukraine against returning and covered up their illegal activities.
Specifically, such "assistance" was received by a suspect in the murder of Vesti journalist Vyacheslav Veremiy, who was beaten to death on the night of February 18-19 last year. And by February 20, the suspect began receiving information from the SBU about the progress of the investigation.
The Prosecutor General's Office (GPU) has currently opened a number of criminal cases related to violations. There have been no official comments from the SBU or the GPU regarding this case. The names of the agency's officers have also not been released.
