Two videos have been published online confirming the participation of Samopomich MP and former Donbass Battalion commander Semyon Semenchenko in the storming of administrative buildings in Donetsk.
Interestingly, these videos show Semenchenko together with the “people’s ex-mayor” of Donetsk, Pavel Gubarev, during the storming and seizure of the Donetsk Regional State Administration building, as well as the State Treasury on March 3 and 5, 2014.
As a reminder, Semenchenko changed his name from Konstantin Igorevich Grishin. He explained this by citing fears for the lives of his family members, who could fall into DPR hands. It's also worth noting that Donbas fighters have repeatedly criticized Semenchenko-Grishin, calling him unprofessional and accusing him of publicity stunts.
For his part, Minister Arsen Avakov demanded an end to the "harassment" of Semenchenko and stated that "his actions speak louder than words and are worth a thousand sentences from a dozen armchair theorists."
Semenchenko himself has not yet commented on the controversial videos. It's important to note that this isn't the first time Samopomich has come under fire. Previously, the party's number one candidate, Anna Gopko, came under fire.
