Russian authorities offered Kyiv prosecutor Serhiy Yuldashev citizenship and a position in the "prosecutor's office" of Crimea or Luhansk, a source in the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine reported.
According to a source, after Sergei Yuldashev made a statement about the threat of a coup d'état emanating from the Aidar volunteer battalion, Russian media outlets became interested in the capital's prosecutor.
On Sunday, November 16, Sergei Yuldashev's statement was the focus of a news report on Channel One.
"Today, the Kyiv prosecutor is creating a better image for the Russian media than the separatists in the east, as he's demonstrating that there are alleged disagreements within the Ukrainian government regarding the attitude toward volunteer battalions that are undermining our territorial integrity," the source says. "We have information that Yuldashev is negotiating Russian citizenship and a position in the so-called prosecutor's office of Crimea or Luhansk."
As a reminder, Vitaliy Yarema appointed Serhiy Yuldashev as Kyiv City Prosecutor on June 25. During Viktor Yanukovych's presidency, Yuldashev served as Deputy Prosecutor of the Luhansk Oblast and Prosecutor of the Dniprovsky District of Kyiv, making him subject to the lustration law. Yuldashev himself has already stated that he will challenge his dismissal in court.
