Shabunin: It's not Shokin who needs to be fired, but Poroshenko.

Vitaly Shabunin, head of the Public Oversight Council at the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, stated that it is President Petro Poroshenko, not Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin, who should be fired. He wrote this on Facebook.

Nameless

Shabunin noted that the president was "protecting" Shokin, and the latter had already accomplished his goals. Among these, Shabunin cited the legalization of old prosecutorial clans and the "leaking" of the sanctions investigation.

Shokin gunpowderWestern media, meanwhile, claim that there have been no attempts in Ukraine to hold representatives of the old government under Viktor Yanukovych accountable. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal and WSJ.

However, according to MP Sergei Kaplin, the Anti-Corruption Action Center, headed by Shabunin, is controlled by oligarch Petro Dyminsky from Lviv and is associated with MP Sergei Pashinsky.
