On December 17, an official announcement by Neftegazdobycha stated that DTEK Oil&Gas BV (Netherlands), part of Akhmetov’s DTEK energy holding, became the owner of 36,6475% of Neftegazdobycha’s shares.

At the same time, Alfredo Trading Limited (Cyprus), which previously owned 20% of the shares of Ukraine's Naftogazvydobuvannya, and Winburg Investments Limited (Cyprus), which owned 16,6475% of the company, sold all their shares of Naftogazvydobuvannya earlier.

According to Forbes-Ukraine, Alfredo Trading Limited represented Nestor Shufrich's interests in Naftogazvydobuvannya, and Winburg Investments Limited represented Nikolai Rudkovskyi's.

Thus, Akhmetov’s energy holding DTEK now owns 100% of the shares of Naftogazdobycha.

Some media outlets had previously reported that Rinat Leonidovich had long had his eye on this company. In the fall of 2012, the State Service for Geology and Subsoil suspended the licenses for two fields belonging to Nestor Shufrich and Nikolai Rudkovsky's company, Naftogazdobycha. This decision proved opportune for Akhmetov's SCM, which had been interested in Naftogazdobycha. In March 2013, SCM acquired a blocking stake in the company from Rudkovsky. A few days later, a court upheld the validity of the licenses.
