Three-time head of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine Svyatoslav Piskun He believes he can restore order in the Dnipropetrovsk region, according to the publication "Obozrevatel." The publication quotes former regional leader Piskun, who until recently lived abroad:
"Considering the current situation with the fight against corruption and crime in Ukraine, we must decisively restore order in the regions, each region individually. If necessary, if the Prosecutor General of Ukraine appoints me, I am ready to serve as prosecutor in the Dnipropetrovsk region to root out corruption and crime in the region. All these separatist manifestations, as well as manifestations of illegal activity, must be combated, and I am ready to go and fight them."
It's worth noting that Piskun, when registered as a parliamentary candidate, did not meet the residency requirement established by the Constitution of Ukraine. A candidate must have resided in Ukraine for the past five years. Nevertheless, the Central Election Commission registered Piskun, who had been hiding in France for the past year. The former prosecutor became the 16th candidate in the Strong Ukraine party of another former Party of Regions member, Serhiy Tihipko.
As a reminder, the scandal surrounding the head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional prosecutor's office, Roman Fedyk, erupted following a statement by Gennady Korban, deputy head of the Dnipropetrovsk region, Igor Kolomoisky.
"Prosecutor-turned-titushka Fedyk has completely sold out to Vilkul and the Opposition Bloc. Specifically, he turned a blind eye to the massive, cynical falsifications in the 38th, 31st, and 32nd districts, where the alleged winners and rigged the results favored the parliamentary candidates who organized the Euromaidan massacre on January 26, 2014," Korban declared. "In this regard, I demand that the president choose between me as deputy governor and Prosecutor Fedyk."
