Police have opened a criminal investigation into the death of former head of the State Property Fund, Valentina Semenyuk-Samsonenko, under the charge of "premeditated murder."

Interfax-Ukraine reported this, citing Nikolai Zhukovich, head of the press service of the Kyiv regional police.
"A criminal case has been opened under Article 115 of the Criminal Code – 'premeditated murder.' A number of expert examinations have been ordered as part of this case," he said on Thursday.
According to him, Semenyuk-Samsonenko discovered her daughter dead when she came to her home after not being able to get through on the phone.
The former head of the State Property Fund was found dead in her home in the village of Chaiki (Kyiv-Svyatoshinsky district) on Wednesday evening.
Semenyuk-Samsonenko suffered a gunshot wound to the chin from a hunting rifle.
