The National Security and Defense Council will not investigate the sale of the president's TV series "Kvartal 95" to the sanctioned STS channel.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) is not involved in the implementation and monitoring of compliance with the economic sanctions applied by Ukraine to the STS Media Limited Liability Company, which owns the STS TV channel, reports Ukrainian news.

Thus, the National Security and Defense Council is not conducting an investigation into the sale of the rights to the TV series "Daddy" by Studio Kvartal 95 to the aforementioned Russian television channel in circumvention of sanctions.

"In accordance with paragraph 6 of the aforementioned decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the National Bank of Ukraine, in accordance with their respective competencies, ensure the implementation of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) and the monitoring of their effectiveness," the NSDC Office stated in its response to the publication's inquiry.

As specified by the National Security and Defense Council, "in accordance with Appendix 2 to the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine dated May 14, 2020, 'On the application, cancellation, and amendment of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions)', put into effect by Decree of the President of Ukraine dated May 14, 2018, No. 184, restrictive measures (sanctions) have been applied to STS Media Limited Liability Company."
