According to information received from a Ukrainian diplomatic source in Switzerland, in early September 2014, the service of this country raised the issue of deportation of Ukrainian citizen Volkov Nikolai Nikolaevich (Sotnik Mykola), born in 1981, who violated the migration agreement with Switzerland.
For those who haven't yet recognized Nikolai Volkov as the infamous "Centurion Mykola," it's worth remembering that he appears in virtually every video footage released by journalists during the tragic events at the Odessa Trade Union House on May 2. In the footage, he reports to officials on the situation on the spot. Later, the same eyewitness cameras captured Nikolai Volkov firing aimed shots at the Trade Union House windows, from which burning people were jumping.
Following these events, internet users uncovered footage of the same "centurion" reporting to National Security and Defense Council Secretary Andriy Parubiy the day after the attack on the checkpoint in Odesa. The soldier was promised a promotion and a promotion.
It should be noted that Nikolai Volkov himself did not deny that he fired at the windows of the Odessa Trade Union House on May 2, but he was unable to explain the purpose of his actions.
Events then unfolded as follows: "Mikola" was detained by police on suspicion of organizing mass riots and soon released under house arrest. But, apparently, he couldn't sit still at home, and he was later found in Switzerland.
The reason for the close attention paid to Nikolai Volkov by Swiss law enforcement was a routine document check on one of the country's highways.
During the investigation, it was discovered that the Ukrainian was in the country on a Polish tourist visa and was unable to explain the reason for his stay in Switzerland.
N. Volkov listed his address in Switzerland as Geneva, Rue Du Marche, 40. During his arrest, he called a certain "Igor." As it later became known, the "sotnik" on the other end of the line was speaking to the governor of the Odessa region, Igor Palytsia, who has an office in the world's banking capital.
What followed were events for which the Swiss authorities were clearly unprepared.
Thus, it was established that the aforementioned Ukrainian is wanted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine on charges of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (fraud). It is worth noting that this fact from Nikol's biography became known to Ukrainian journalists after the events in Odessa (the Ministry of Internal Affairs officially confirmed this information to several publications https://kp.ua/politics/451686-sredy-uchastnykov-odesskoi-trahedyy-zasvetylsia-sotnyk-mykola ). The initiator of the search was the Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Odessa region.
Ukrainian diplomatic mission staff attempted to explain to their Swiss counterparts why a fugitive from justice was staying in Switzerland without proper documentation.
Our diplomats, though hesitant, insisted that there had been a mix-up with the Ukrainian citizen in question, that he was no longer wanted and was being persecuted for political reasons. However, he was unable to raise the funds to return to his homeland. To do so, he turned to his fellow countrymen to help him obtain immigration documents and purchase tickets.
But something else turned out to be more interesting: many in Geneva know that the Ukrainian "Privat" company lives at 40 Rue Du Marche (which "the centurion" indicated as his address), and that the office of the governor of the Odessa region, Igor Palnitsa (whom Nikolai called during his arrest), is also located there.
Apparently, N. Volkov is ready to return home to Odessa, since the investigation into the May 2 tragedy at the Trade Union House indicates that the Kulikovo Field activists set themselves on fire, and the rogue firefighters simply didn't have time to put them out.
Just six months have passed, and everything has become clear... No one has any questions anymore... You can set it on fire and shoot one more time, and Privat will cover you.
