The American company SpaceX (Space Exploration Technologies Corp.) filed a lawsuit against the Ukrainian company Starlink LLC and Ukrpatent. The case was open October 24, writes giant.

What is known about Starlink Ukraine?
It turns out that the Ukrainian brand of the same name, Starlink, has been around for a long time. According to the trademark registry, the Ukrainian company Starlink LLC filed an application for its registration back in March 2010. The trademark was actually registered in February 2011.
Let us recall that a subsidiary of the American Starlink appeared in Ukraine in April 2022. It called Starlink Ukraine LLC. After the war, Starlink also began providing satellite internet services in Ukraine.

What's next for Starlink Ukraine?
Sergey Dulitsky explained that his company has been providing IT services under the StarLink brand for a very long time—over 14 years. Starlink LLC itself was registered in the registry back in 2009.
Starlink is a satellite internet service from SpaceX that operates in low-Earth orbit (LEO). Starlink was first announced in 2015 and began offering services to customers in 2020.
Sergey Dulitsky says he doesn't want to simply hand over his name to an American company. "It's not our fault we chose that name. Incidentally, it was long before Starlink itself existed," he emphasizes.
The Ukrainian company's founder admits he might negotiate with SpaceX, but only on the condition that SpaceX compensate his company for the losses associated with abandoning the brand. He emphasized that his clients know his business by this name, that his email service has operated under this domain for many years, and so on.
According to Sergei, the first hearing in the case is scheduled for December 8.
