The court has arrested Terra Bank Supervisory Board Chairman Klimenko for two months.

Terra BankThe Holosiivskyi District Court of Kyiv has remanded Serhiy Klymenko, head of Terra Bank's supervisory board, in custody for two months with the possibility of posting bail. The court set Klymenko's bail at 15 million hryvnias, according to a statement from the Deposit Guarantee Fund.

 

In addition, the prosecutor served a notice of suspicion of committing a criminal offense on another member of the supervisory board of the liquidated financial institution, Yulia Obletsova.

 

The prosecutor's office suspects Oblitsova and Klimenko of embezzling funds from Terra Bank depositors, as well as misappropriation and embezzlement of property (1 billion UAH), i.e., on an especially large scale.

 

As a reminder, criminal proceedings against Sergei Klimenko were initiated following the temporary administration of Terra Bank, imposed by the Deposit Guarantee Fund. The former head of the supervisory board is accused of using his official position to siphon a large sum of money from the bank to a number of companies in January and February 2014.
