The State Bureau of Investigation has received court permission to conduct a special pre-trial investigation into former Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov. The decision was made by a Kyiv court, according to a report. press office GBR.
Nikolai Azarov is suspected of committing treason by prior conspiracy with a group of persons.
It has been established that when signing the Agreement between Ukraine and the Russian Federation on April 21, 2010, regarding the presence of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine, the former Prime Minister acted in the interests of Russia to the detriment of sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability, defense capability, state and economic.
The content and terms of this agreement were imposed in Moscow by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on the eve of its signing on April 21, 2010.
Fully understanding the consequences of signing this Agreement for Ukraine, the former Prime Minister created conditions for the continued presence of the Russian Black Sea Fleet on Ukrainian territory for 25 years, which contributed to the build-up (instead of withdrawal) of military equipment and personnel of the armed forces of the aggressor state in Ukraine, which were used during the occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol in 2014.
Contrary to Part 3 of Article 4 of the Law of Ukraine "On International Treaties of Ukraine," the draft Agreement did not even undergo legal review before being signed.
State Bureau of Investigation investigators have obtained original documents attesting to the deliberate actions of senior Ukrainian officials to the detriment of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our state, under orders from the highest levels of the Russian Federation.
These acts were committed by prior conspiracy between former Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov and then-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych. Both are wanted in connection with this criminal case.
