The Pechersky District Court decided to lift the seizure of petroleum products that are evidence in the case against Sergei Kurchenko.
The arrest was lifted after the petroleum products disappeared.
It's important to note that the oil and refined products were imported into Ukraine through the port of Odessa and were stored at the Odessa Oil Refinery. Officially, they were imported for further transit, but in reality, it turned out to be a tax evasion scheme.
Petroleum products were imported using fictitious documents under the guise of re-export. In total, the fuel was sold for approximately 36 billion hryvnias. It turned out that the management of the Odesa Oil Refinery also profited from the fictitious re-export, using nearly 100 tons of oil to produce gasoline.
There have been no official comments yet regarding the disappearance of such a significant amount of evidence. It should also be noted that the Swiss prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into Kurchenko's money laundering through the accounts of VETEK Gas Trading & Supply SA and VETEK Trading SA.
