On May 18, 2009, by decree of President Viktor Yushchenko, Leonid Ivanovich Svida was appointed to the position of judge of the Odessa District Administrative Court for a term of 5 years.

Subsequently, he was recommended by the High Qualification Qualification Commission for election to the position for life.
Several months ago, the public organization "Rule of Law" requested and received income declarations of all judges in the city of Odessa for 2011-2013 in the order of access to public information.
According to the declarations, Judge L.I. Svid and his family own impressive plots of land (more than 3000 sq.m.), a residential building with an area of ​​316,2 sq.m., 2 apartments of 145,6 and 67,6 sq.m., a summer house of 164,9 sq.m., and other real estate with an area of ​​516,9 sq.m.
The judge and his family also own a 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer and a 2007 Honda Civic.
The judge declined to respond to the public's request for information about the sources of his property.
