Judge Kristina Tarasyuk of Kyiv's Pechersky District Court has suspended Prosecutor General Oleksiy Donskoy from conducting investigative actions in the criminal case against former Prosecutor General Viktor Pshonka. This criminal case concerns the illegal appropriation of 69 million hryvnias in state funds. Prosecutor Donskoy himself announced this information on a television channel.

Donskoy noted that Judge Tarasyuk made a decision prohibiting him from communicating with one of the suspects in this case, who is in pretrial detention.

The prosecutor emphasized that if the judge's decision were to be applied to other criminal proceedings involving a particular high-ranking official, it would likely result in "a mixture of factors in which not a single high-ranking official would be held criminally liable," Donskoy noted.

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, such a court decision effectively legitimizes the corruption scheme and blocks the investigation of the crimes committed.
